Before continuing, bear in mind that this game sucked me in for at least 30 minutes -- so if you like bombs, or you simply don't have the time to waste, you should probably stop reading now.

Building Blaster does exactly what it says on the tin and is as fun as you'd expect. The 'buildings' are simple towers made of different materials with differing properties. Your job is to blow them up using a variety of explosives: you start with dynamite, but you quickly get flasks of nitroglycerin to help move things along. The game itself is easy, but to get a higher score you need to use as few explosives as possible -- and avoid the civilians! Blow up the evil-looking dude and you get bonus points.

There are some expensive 'unconventional' weapons available in the shop too. The UFO -- and antimatter -- are sure to make your little time-wasting session slightly more... illuminating.

Controls are the same as Cave Story if you've ever played it :) You can press P to pause and see the controls, too. You, the lone crew member on a small vessel, find a space station near the edge of explored space beaming out a distress call. As anyone would do in such a situation, you blindly investigate. Features include multiple weapons, rocket jumping, fast physics, and a retro style.

I like to think of Clockwork Monster's Blosics as a sort of backwards-Jenga-with-cannonballs.

Click in the green circle to "arm" a projectile and hold the button to increase the shot's power. You'll need to use finesse and play your angles well once the game introduces red blocks. Knocking green ones from the platform earns you points, while red ones penalize you.

Earn 100 points or more, and you pass the level. Blosics isn't a long-term commitment -- the first few levels are easy enough. Expect some challenges toward the end, though.

I just wish there were more levels, but I'll be heading back for another round. Knocking stuff over is always a good stress reliever, after all.

Does the fast pace of action games make you anxious? If so, have I got the time waster for you. Balls 2 is a game that involves no explosions, no timer, and no lives. You simply mouse over a bunch of colored balls, causing them to split into four smaller colored balls. If you do this enough times, the balls eventually disappear, revealing a random image underneath. The developer says that the image is updated weekly.

The game has the same sort of zen feeling as popping bubble wrap, with a bit of repetitive stress injury thrown in. In fact, it's easier to play Balls 2 using a touch pad.

To be honest, I didn't have the patience to actually reveal the hidden image -- it takes a long time to get there. Let us know in the comments what you find.
